Are you concerned about what's in your food? Want to raise your own chickens/turkeys, but don't want to process them? Want a fun family project for the summer? Wotton Farm can process your birds!
What's in My Food?
By raising your own chickens, you have control over what type of feed they get. There are many different choices-- free range, traditional chicken feed, non-medicated feed or organic feed. We raise a few different types, but the most common for us is the White Cornish Cross Broiler. We have raised this type of bird for the last several years and have had very little problems with them. These birds typically take 10 weeks to raise from a chick to a bird that is ready to be processed.
What Does it Cost?
Price per Chick- $2.00
(*Only necessary if you wish to purchase the chicks from our farm- YOU MAY PURCHASE CHICKS FROM OTHER VENDORS)
Processing per Bird- $4.00
Birds are packaged as whole birds. All birds are packaged in freezer safe bags.
No additional charge if you would like the neck- just let us know! Additional charges apply if internal organs such as livers, gizzards or hearts are requested.
We can vacuum seal your whole chicken for an additional $.50 per bird.
All birds are processed quickly and humanely.
Reserve your holiday turkey ahead of time with a $10.00 per turkey deposit. (**Refunds are only refunded if we are unable to provide the customer with a turkey.)
Our free range turkeys are raised in a large outside area. This allows them to forage naturally while still being protected from predators. They are fed non-medicated grain and get lots of vegetables from our garden.
***We will do our best with sizes, but can not promise exact sizes.
